The FinexHome Video Doorbell V3:Everything That Changed (And Why It Matters)

The FinexHome Video Doorbell V2 was already one of the best-selling video doorbells in the Netherlands. No subscription, 2K resolution, easy installation, and a price that made Ring look expensive.

The V3 replaces it. And the gap between the two is wider than a version number suggests.

New 4K camera. New processor. New AI capabilities. Wider field of view. Better weather resistance. Everything that the V2 did well, the V3 does measurably better, and everything the V2 did not do, the V3 now does.

We went through every spec, tested the claims, and compared it against what Ring and Google Nest offer at similar price points. Here is what changed and why it matters.

01

4K Ultra HD: Four Times the Detail

The V2 recorded in 2K, sharp enough to see who was at the door. The V3 records in 4K, which quadruples the pixel count.

In practical terms: you can read the label on a package. You can identify a face at the edge of the frame. If something happens and you need to share footage with the police, the image quality is clear enough to be useful, not a blurry shape that could be anyone.

4K also matters for digital zoom. Where the V2's zoom turned soft after 2x, the V3 holds detail at higher magnification. You are not just recording more pixels. You are recording more information.

02

160° Wide-Angle With Head-to-Toe Coverage

Five degrees wider than the V2, from 155° to 160°. But the real improvement is vertical.

The V3 has a new wide-angle vertical view designed to show visitors from head to toe and packages on the ground. The V2 often cut off below the waist, which meant you could see a face but not the box they left behind.

This is one of those changes that sounds minor in a spec sheet but changes what you actually see day to day. Most of the action at a front door happens at ground level: packages, pets, kids. The V3 captures all of it.

03

2X Faster Chip: Alerts Before They Leave

The V3 runs on a new processor that is roughly 2 times faster than the V2's chip. The difference shows up in three places:

1

First, notifications are faster. From the moment someone presses the doorbell or triggers motion detection to the alert arriving on your phone, there is less lag. This matters when delivery drivers ring and walk away within seconds.

2

Second, the AI processing runs on-device instead of depending on cloud round-trips. The V3 analyses the feed locally, which means detection is faster and your footage never leaves your property.

3

Third, the app response is snappier. Opening the live view, scrubbing through recordings, two-way audio, everything that felt slightly delayed on the V2 is tighter on the V3.

04

AI-Powered Detection: People, Packages, and Zones

The V2 had motion detection. The V3 has three types of intelligent detection that the V2 never had:

AI Human Detection

The camera distinguishes people from cars, animals, and shadows. You get notified when a person is at your door, not when a cat walks past or a tree branch sways. This alone eliminates most of the false alerts that make people turn off notifications entirely.

AI Package Detection

The V3 recognises when a package is placed at your door. You get a specific notification: a package has arrived. No more checking the tracking app, texting the neighbour, or wondering if the delivery driver actually came.

Activity Area Detection

You draw zones on the camera view and only get alerts for motion within those zones. Monitor your front path but ignore the pavement. Watch your driveway but not the street. This gives you control over what counts as an event and what does not.

05

IP66 Weather Resistance: Built for Dutch Weather

The V2 carried an IP65 rating, protected against rain and dust. The V3 upgrades to IP66, which adds protection against powerful water jets. In a country where horizontal rain is a season, this matters.

IP66 means the V3 handles storms, pressure washing near the front door, and years of Dutch winters without degrading. The housing is redesigned for the upgrade, with better sealing around the lens and button.

Available in black and white, so it matches whatever your front door looks like.

Expert Perspective

The V3 addresses every practical complaint reviewers had about the V2, vertical coverage, processing speed, and intelligent detection, while keeping the no-subscription model that made the V2 popular in the first place. The AI package detection alone will be a selling point for anyone who works from home or receives regular deliveries. At this price point, it repositions the conversation around what you should expect from a video doorbell in 2026

What Customers Say

“I have had the V2 for two years and it has been flawless. Pre-ordered the V3 the moment I saw the 4K and package detection. Those were the two things I wished the V2 had."

Marco  · Amsterdam Verified

“We get three or four deliveries a week. The package detection alone is worth the upgrade. No more guessing whether the driver actually came or left it with a neighbour."

Annemiek · Groningen Verified

“Came from Ring. I was paying EUR 10 a month to see my own doorbell footage. The V3 gives me better resolution, better detection, and zero monthly cost. The maths is obvious."
