Luc and Teun saw up close what was going wrong with video doorbells. That led to Finex: smart security without hassle and without a subscription.
Our story
Where it began
Luc and Teun met each other as parcel delivery drivers at PostNL. Every day, they saw the same thing at front doors: video doorbells that were empty, unresponsive, or simply did not allow communication. Residents complained that the systems were expensive and difficult to use, and that they were of little use without a subscription.
They kept coming back to it at the depot: this could be better. Their idea: a doorbell that simply works, is affordable, and never requires a subscription.
The process
From sketch to doorstep
At the drawing board, they developed their idea into an initial design. Then they looked for a supplier who believed in them and invested everything. They tested, adjusted, and refined it until every detail was right. In 2023, Finex's first video doorbell was ready, completely subscription-free. It immediately became a bestseller.
